IREDELL COUNTY, N.C. (WBTV) – Clusters of COVID-19 cases have been reported in a daycare center and a high school in Iredell County.
The report came Friday, just days after NCDHHS Secretery Mandy Cohen revealed the state would start reporting coronavirus “clusters,” which are thought about five or more cases.
A cluster of cases was reported at Primrose School of Lake Norman. Another cluster was reported at a school in the area. NCDHHS reports five employee at North Iredell High School have validated cases of COVID-19

” NCDHHS describes this as a ‘cluster’ instead of an ‘outbreak’ because of the setting, as it is tough to accurately determine how transmission occurred and whether it occurred within the setting or from within the wider neighborhood,” the Iredell County Health Department states.
The Primrose School of Lake Norman states the center will be closed through July 13 while it is sterilized. Health leaders say they will continue to get in touch with trace to determine anyone who was available in contact with an infected individual.
