At least 14 people have been shot outside a funeral house in Chicago – among the worst mass shootings in a city currently coming to grips with increasing violence.
Mourners were shot at by the occupants of a passing automobile as they left the house in Gresham, on Chicago’s South Side, on Tuesday evening, authorities said.
The injuries were reported to range from major to crucial.
The shooting comes in the middle of reports that federal agents are to be deployed to the city to help tackle increasing criminal offense.
