Sonu Punjaban gets 24 years imprisonment for immoral trafficking

A Delhi court on Wednesday sentenced Sonu Punjaban to 24 years jail time for immoral trafficking of a 12- year old woman, saying an individual who does such dreadful and dreadful acts has no right to reside in a civilised society. Extra Sessions Judge Pritam Singh sentenced Sonu Punjaban to jail terms of 14 years for offences under the Unethical Traffic (Prevention) Act and 10 years for other offenses under the Indian Penal Code, including selling and purchasing of a minor woman for prostitution and criminal conspiracy, which will run individually.

The found guilty Geeta Arora alias Sonu Punjaban shall initially go through 14 years strenuous jail time for offense under sections of Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, thereafter to go through 10 years strenuous imprisonment for offences under sections 366 A (procuration of small lady), 372 (selling small for function of prostitution), 373 (purchasing minor for function of prostitution), 328 (triggering injured by means of toxin), 342 (wrongful confinement), 120 B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC. For this reason, the convict shall remain in custody (prison) for an overall of 24 years as substantive sentence, the court said.

The court likewise sentenced co-accused Sandeep Bedwal to 20 years extensive jail time for kidnapping, raping and selling the small girl for prostitution.
