Chief Minister Amarinder Singh suspends excise and police officials, reveals payment
The death toll in the hooch disaster in three Punjab districts– Tarn Taran, Amritsar Rural and Gurdaspur– has actually risen to 86 so far, said Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh on Saturday.
The Chief Minister also ordered the suspension of, and questions versus, seven Excise and Tax Officers and Inspectors, together with two Deputy Superintendents of Authorities and 4 Station House Officer of Punjab Authorities in connection with the hooch tragedy.
