This week we speak to Jules Miller, creator of dietary supplements firm The Nue Co.Jules Miller says she became so ill that she had internal bleeding. That’s when I began to think about food, health and supplements. She started taking supplements to attempt to alleviate the issue, but discovered that absolutely nothing worked.

At this stage a lot of us in her predicament might have got depressed, worried or upset, however Jules had a secret weapon – her grandfather was a chemist at the University of Cambridge. So with her granddad – the late Prof George Miller – she started to research dietary supplement formulas and ingredients. “It was a fantastic insight,” says Jules, now31 “There were brand names out there that were supposed to help you, but they consisted of components that were clinically proven to cause other signs.” Her work with her grandfather motivated Jules to begin her own natural supplements business. And in 2017 she introduced Nue. Today business has yearly revenues of $10 m (₤ 7.8 m).
