One year after its original announcement, Netflix’s Monica, O My Darling has just dropped its latest
trailer. Check out the film’s slick new teaser below:
While the story remains under wraps — possibly for the better — we know that Rajkummar Rao will
be playing a young man pulled into a twisted murder plot with dangerous allies and even-more
dangerous foes to watch out for, but with plenty of laughs along the way.
Plenty of the film’s artistic tones can be found right in its name, a throwback to Caravan’s 1971 hit
track, Piya Ab Tu Aaja. With retro throwbacks in the soundtrack reminiscent of scenes from old-
school Bollywood crime capers, there’s plenty promised from director-writer duo Vasan Bala and
Yogesh Chandekar, who have everything from killer robot arms to sly seductresses and more in store
for fans — even Netflix tweeted that the story is well worth the wait.
Speaking of which, fans quickly took to Twitter after first-look stills dropped earlier this week — giving fans a glimpse of Radhika Apte and Huma Qureshi, who will be playing important roles in the film.

Monica, O My Darling will be Rao’s Netflix follow-up to 2022’s HIT, and his first time working with
the Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota director-writer. “Everyone is a darling, but the real one is Vasan Bala,”
said Rao to the Maktab Times. We all love him as a person and a filmmaker. I have seen the film and
we are all very proud of it, it is all our director, Vasan Bala.”
With a teaser finally out, we’re expecting the film to drop somewhere in the next quarter of 2022.
