There is a village in Mufassil police station area in Nawada, Bihar, its name is Krishna Nagar. Suddenly at 7 pm on Wednesday evening some people from nearby village attacked this village. It is alleged that bullets were fired and then the Dalit colony was set on fire. But as soon as this incident came to light, the leaders from both the sides, according to their own, wanted to fuel their politics in the caste of the victim and the accused, in such a situation, it is necessary that the entire incident be understood first.

Those whose colonies were set on fire are Mahadalits of Bihar. Their caste is Manjhi and Ravidas, the accused who attacked also belong to Dalit and backward caste. Among these, the accused are Paswan, Yadav and Chauhan who comes from EBC quota. This fire… this attack is not due to mutual conflict between castes, but due to an old fight for possession of land. In this attack, the victims have lost their mud houses, huts, roof over their heads, household grains and everything.

Now it is also important to understand what are Dalits and Mahadalits in Bihar? Actually, considering the development and economic situation, Dalits in Bihar have been divided into two parts. One is Dalit and the other is Mahadalit. The name of the main accused who has been mentioned is Nandu Paswan, he is a Dalit, not a Mahadalit, but the question is whether it is important to see the crime of the accused and the pain of the victim or caste?

Leaders of the ruling party including Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi are focusing on the fact that most of the accused are Yadavs and leaders of the opposition are focusing on the fact that most of the victims are Mahadalits.

A total of 80 houses in the colony, out of which 21 were burnt to ashes.

The government which could not provide land to the poor could not provide permanent houses to the Mahadalits. The government could not understand the intentions of the criminals in the land dispute. According to the allegations, the police did not arrive on time after the attack by criminals. The administration could not make proper arrangements to shelter the poor after the fire. After losing their homes, the Bihar government has left the victims dependent on bangles and jaggery. Who now have only extinguished stoves and a few utensils stained with soot. The administration there is currently busy wiping off the soot of inaction from its face due to the fact that there will be 80 houses in the colony, but only 21 are burnt. Nawada SP Abhivan Dhiman says that the information was received at 7:15, there was a claim of 40-50 houses being burnt, we have identified 21 families.

People forced to collect grains from burnt houses

4 burnt huts made of tarpaulin and thatched roofs supported by bamboo are being counted. The pain of the victims is that O government… I wish you could have understood how poor the common man really is amidst the political gains of converting Dalit into Mahadalit. Who is seen distributing his remaining wheat in the burnt hut. I wish the leaders of the ruling party and opposition of Bihar would have understood that no sofa or cupboard is found in the hut of a Mahadalit family. He must have stored rice in a pot in some corner, so that his stomach can be filled. If there was a fire, everything would have been burnt, what was left is being distributed by a distressed mother. And his daughter is watching this scene while standing at a distance. Perhaps this thought is coming in his mind whether this rice will quench the hunger in his stomach after his house burns down, because the administration has not done anything.

pain of victims

The victim Sunita Devi said that she spent the night sitting on a tarpaulin on the roadside, eating bangles and spending the night wondering what she would eat, where she would stay and what the child would eat. Give some arrangement. Victim Rekha Devi said that she has 4 children and stayed on the road at night. Gave jaggery to the children, they are searching for food what to eat. The child kept searching for food. People from the administration had come, but where will we stay, what will we eat.

15 arrested including main suspect

In this case, the police have arrested 15 people including the main suspect Nandu Paswan, there is panic among the people living in the village Krishna Nagar across the river and Nawada police is now conducting simultaneous raids to catch the criminals. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in the area and senior police officers are camping in the village. Preliminary investigation found that this incident stemmed from a land dispute. According to eyewitnesses, the land mafia of nearby village Pran Bigha also fired several rounds. After this incident, many houses are lying vacant because the walls are covered with soot and smoke is coming out from the debris. Nawada SDPO (Headquarters) Sunil Kumar said that raids are going on to nab the remaining suspects.
