Falta Election Results: The counting of votes for the re-polling in Phalta Assembly seat of West Bengal held on May 21 has been completed and BJP has won here by 109,021 votes. Two days before re-polling on this seat, TMC candidate Jahangir Khan had announced his withdrawal, which changed the entire atmosphere. However, Trinamool Congress called it their personal decision. At the same time, after re-polling, victory in Phalta is said to be quite easy for the BJP candidate.

Peaceful re-polling took place in Phalta on 21 May from 7 am to 6 pm. Till 5 pm, 86.11 percent voting was recorded, which was slightly less than the first voting held on April 29.

In the first election held on April 29, the Election Commission had ordered re-polling in Phalta after allegations of putting things like perfume and adhesive tape in EVMs. Heavy security arrangements were made in Phalta on the instructions of the Election Commission. Central forces of 35 companies were deployed at 285 polling stations. There were long queues the whole day.

Let us tell you that if BJP wins, its number of seats in the 2026 assembly elections will increase to 207. Because BJP had won 207 seats in the elections. However, Chief Minister Shubhendu Adhikari contested elections from two seats – Nandigram and Bhawanipur and won both the seats. Now he has resigned from Nandigram seat.

Abhishek Banerjee targets Election Commission

Posted by :- Kishor

Regarding voting on Phalta seat, TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee said, ‘Many major discrepancies have come to light in the re-counting of voting held today in Phalta assembly constituency. By 3:30 pm today, all 21 rounds had been completed. Whereas on May 4, by this time, only 2-4 rounds had been completed. The country should get an explanation from the ECI in this regard. Although in the last 10 days more than 1000 workers of Phalta were forced to flee their homes, yet the Election Commission turned a blind eye to this. Even when the Model Code of Conduct was in force, party offices were vandalized in broad daylight.

Mamta Banerjee again accused of looting votes

Posted by :- Kishor

Mamata Banerjee has once again attacked the Center over the Bengal elections, saying, “I am not even getting permission to organize a meeting. Our councilors are being arrested. 2500 of our party offices have been seized. Some lewd (anti-social) elements are shouting ‘chor-chor’ after seeing the Trinamool Congress (TMC). Who are these people? They are all outsiders. Even the Mayor has got something to say.” You don’t know and the Municipal Corporation officials are giving instructions. Whatever you are doing is sheer force. People have built houses with their hard-earned money, but you are harassing people all over Bengal. I am very sad that you have demolished the statue in Salt Lake Stadium which was also praised by FIFA.”

Falta Re-polling Counting: Why Falta is special for BJP

Posted by :- Nitin

The controversy-ridden Falta assembly constituency is the most important area for the BJP after Bhawanipur, as this seat comes under the Diamond Harbor parliamentary constituency, which is represented by TMC leader and Mamata’s nephew Abhishek Banerjee. For many years the region had been projected by some sections of the party as a successful organizational and political model, but the developments of the last fortnight (from BJP’s advance in parts of Diamond Harbor to the Phulta unrest and Jahangir Khan’s retreat) have revealed such a political scenario. It has given rise to new political discussions about changes in the Constitution, which was once considered politically impenetrable.
