The World Health Organization called the spread “deeply concerning” as several countries reported their first cases of the disease — which has killed more than 3,500 people and infected more than 100,000 across 94 nations and territories.
Mainland China, where the outbreak began, has seen at least 3,070 deaths, but the epidemic is now spreading faster elsewhere. About a quarter of China’s new confirmed cases and almost all of those outside the epicentre in Wuhan originated outside the country on Friday, according to official data.
