Scenario has been tense following a clash in between members of the Khasi Trainees’ Union and non-tribals during a conference over the Citizenship (Change) Act and the Inner Line License.

Curfew was reimposed in Shillong and other parts of the State on Saturday after an individual was eliminated in a marketplace, taking the toll to two in as numerous days of common clashes.

The situation in six districts of the State’s eastern half has been tense following Friday’s clash at Ichamati in the East Khasi Hills district between members of the Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) and non-tribals during a meeting over the Citizenship (Modification) Act (CAA) and the Inner Line Authorization (ILP) that left someone dead and numerous hurt.
