There was a stampede at New Delhi railway station late on Saturday night when a large crowd of people was trying to climb different trains to go to Prayagraj Mahakumbh. 17 people died and dozens of others were injured in this accident. The injured have been admitted to LNJP and Lady Harding Hospital for treatment. The condition of all the injured admitted to LNJP Hospital is stable.
Most of those who lost their lives in the stampede are women and children. Many videos after the stampede at New Delhi railway station have surfaced. One video clearly shows that people were scattered on the stairs, while the other video shows a huge crowd on the platform, while some passengers are lying unconscious on the stairs and floors. Some people are trying to give CPR to unconscious passengers, while some are lifting them down and bringing them down.

Railways ordered inquiry
A statement issued by the Indian Railways said that at around 10 pm tonight at the New Delhi railway station, there was an unexpected crowd near platform number 13 and 14. Due to the sudden crowd, some passengers on the platform fainted, causing a rumor of a stampede -like situation. This caused chaos. The situation was later controlled by reducing the crowd. Northern Railway immediately launched 4 special trains to remove the sudden sudden crowd. Now the crowd has reduced.
