The price of Tiago EV starts at Rs 6.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 11.14 lakh ex-showroom. At this price you get the option of two battery packs. The base variant has a 19kWh battery and the top variant has a 24kWh battery.

Since the price of the top variant of this car goes up to Rs 10 lakh, it competes with vehicles of other segments as well. One such car is Tata Punch EV. The price of this car starts from Rs 9.69 lakh ex-showroom. In such a situation, the question arises that if you want to buy an electric car in a budget of Rs 10 lakh, then which of these two should you buy?

The Pure Plus variant of Tiago EV comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.49 lakh. Whereas the Smart 30 variant of Tata Punch comes at an ex-showroom price of Rs 9.69 lakh. If you buy either of these, you will have to spend almost equal amount of money.

Which to buy Punch EV or Tiago EV?
Where Tiago EV Pure Plus variant gets power of 55kW and torque of 114 Nm. Whereas Punch EV will get power of 65kW and torque of 154 Nm. Tiago will get a 24kWh battery, while the Punch EV will get a 30kWh battery in this event. In this budget, you get IP67 rating in Punch, whereas there will be no protection in this variant of Tata Tiago EV.
Compared to Tiago EV, Punch EV is also bigger in size and it also has more boot space. The ground clearance of Punch is also higher than Tiago. Overall, Tata Punch will have an advantage in terms of size.

Due to the bigger battery, the Punch will also get more range. Where the claimed range of Tiago EV is 285 kilometers. You will get a claimed range of 350 kilometers in Punch EV. Keep in mind that this range will be less in the real world. If you want a car with more range and bigger size, then you should go for Punch.
However, in terms of features, Tiago EV is a better package at this time. Since you get the base variant of Tata Punch EV in this budget, you may have to compromise on many features. You do not get features related to infotainment in the base model of Punch EV. i.e If you want features, then you will have to go for the model above Punch or choose Tiago.
