A surprising case has come to light from Mirzapur in Uttar Pradesh. Here in Vindhyachal area, PWD officials and contractors showed great negligence during the widening of the road from Dudhnath Tirahe to the temple. In a hurry to complete the work before Navratri, the road was built without removing the hand pump installed on the roadside, one kilometer away from the temple. Local villagers made the video of this hand pump standing in the middle of the road viral on social media. After the matter escalated and fear of an accident was raised, now Assistant Engineer PK Pandey has started the action to get it removed.

Local villagers Krishna Yadav and Kaushal say that this is gross negligence of the department. This hand pump located on the side of the road came in the way after widening, and it was mandatory to remove it. Building a road without clearing it can lead to a major accident at night.

According to the villagers, the contractor kept safety standards aside just to fulfill the food supply. Now that the video has gone viral, the officials are trying to correct their mistake. Social media users are trolling the engineer regarding this.

Giving clarification on the matter, Assistant Engineer PK Pandey said that this hand pump was not exactly in the middle of the road, but it had to be removed along with pitching the road. Now the department is getting it removed hurriedly. Officials claim that the road work was being done at a fast pace for the convenience of the devotees before the Navratri fair, due to which this mistake occurred.
