‘ India has a role to play in vaccine production’
Near To 60%of the vaccines provided on the planet are of Indian origin. India is viewed as an essential vaccine supplier on the planet. Any vaccine prospect which is produced or established in any part of the world will ultimately have to be scaled up by India or China, given that they are the major manufacturers of vaccines in the world, DG ICMR Balram Bhargava stated at the Covid-19 press conference.
Any developed nation establishing a vaccine understands that and they are in communication with India for distribution.
On The Other Hand, there are two Indian indigenous vaccine prospects which have successfully finished toxicity research studies in rats, mice and rabbits. The outcomes were sent to the Drug Controller General of India, which provided approval for phase 1 and II human trials.
Websites for tests are ready and about 1,000 human volunteers each, at different websites, would be covered for early medical screening. Pre-clinical experiments on the vaccine prospects, and others, are also being conducted.
