The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has barred Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani from participating in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) for the next two seasons after he withdrew from his agreement to play in the tournament and opted to feature in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026.

In an official statement, the PCB stated that Muzarabani had accepted key contractual terms to represent Islamabad United for PSL 2026 but failed to honour the commitment. The board described his decision as a breach of contract and a violation of professional ethics governing international cricket leagues.

Muzarabani was initially not picked during the PSL auction but was later signed by Islamabad United as a replacement for West Indies pacer Shamar Joseph. However, before joining the squad, he switched to the IPL after securing a deal with Kolkata Knight Riders, where he replaced Bangladesh seamer Mustafizur Rahman.

The PCB emphasized that despite understanding the challenges of overlapping cricket schedules, it would not tolerate actions that undermine contractual integrity or disrupt the league’s structure. As a result, Muzarabani has been declared ineligible for the next two editions of the PSL with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, players like Spencer Johnson and Dasun Shanaka, who also pulled out of PSL commitments to participate in the IPL, could face similar disciplinary action, although no official confirmation has been made yet.
