Australians have been urged to avoid all non-essential overseas travel as the global coronavirus pandemic continues to escalate.

There are COVID-19 cases in every Australian state and territory.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison says anyone planning an overseas trip should “consider carefully whether now is the right time”.

So can you still travel internationally if you must be somewhere, or you’re willing to take the risk?

Scott Morrison says all Australians should reconsider non-essential travel regardless of their age or health status.

“We are effectively putting in place what is called a level-three travel advice,” he said.
