The Qingming festival, also understood as Tomb Sweeping Day, is typically a time when people check out the graves of pals and household, sprucing up the area and making offerings to their spirits.

People clean up the graves and burn items such as joss sticks and paper offerings – in some cases quite big ones – to honour the dead and send cash and other products to liked ones in the afterlife.
