The suns out, the snags are sizzling and the long list of projects around the house are giving dads all over the country an excuse to wander around Bunnings with hands on hips.

The only thing missing is dad shorts.

I’m in the market for a new pair of dad shorts so when I came across the Aussie brand Frankster I knew I had found my people.

They also have deep pockets for looking after the precious “cool rocks” that get found at the park and a secret zip pocket for hiding the lollies.

When you need to switch out of dad-mode they still work great.

The Everydays are stylish enough to work with a nice polo or short-sleeve button-up and the belt loop lets you level up the look to show that you are a distinguished gentleman.

The Actives For the bloke who is always on his way from a hike to the beach before a round of golf, The Actives are a described as “Swiss Army Shorts”.

Made from a high quality polyester they are water and wrinkle resistant, anti-microbial and UPF50+.

Lightweight and flexible, The Actives have five pockets including a secret zipper pocket for secret stuff.

You can choose to have the drawstring either inside or outside furthering Frankster’s mission to have shorts that can be both casual and stylish.

The Aussies When I first became a dad, my first pair of dad shorts were a classic pair of navy cargos.

Nothing feels more dad-mode than a pair of cargos and nothing feels more Aussie than them being navy blue.

As with all Frankster shorts, The Aussies have generous pockets including the secret zipper pocket and innie/outie drawstring for versatility.
