An experimental coronavirus vaccine developed by Moderna provoked an immune response without significant negative effects in an early-stage medical trial, researchers reported Tuesday in the New England Journal of Medicine.
The Phase I trial, conducted in collaboration with the National Institute of Allergic Reaction and Transmittable Illness, enrolled 45 people who were offered two doses of the vaccine in March and April. Majority of participants developed moderate side effects, including chills and body pains, and three did not get the 2nd vaccine dose.
