A carefully planned escape, multiple hideouts across states, and attempts to evade surveillance finally came to an end for notorious criminal Raja Sahani, who was arrested in Uttarakhand after a photograph taken with his girlfriend helped police track him down.
Raja Sahani, a known habitual offender with multiple criminal cases, had escaped from Choudwar Jail in Cuttack and had been absconding for a considerable period. Since his jailbreak, he had been constantly shifting locations to avoid detection, making it difficult for police teams to trace his movement.
According to police sources, the breakthrough came after a photograph of Raja surfaced from a railway station in Uttarakhand, where he was seen travelling with his girlfriend. The image, which was initially captured by a police source, was later shared with the Commissionerate Police’s Special-26 team. On closer examination, investigators were able to confirm his identity.
