Preparations were under way at the Grand Mosque in Capital to invite this year’s pilgrims.

International visitors have been banned from making the journey to Mecca, to try to suppress the pandemic.

Those taking part were subject to temperature checks and infection tests as they started showing up in Mecca at the weekend, AFP news firm reports.

Worshippers will likewise have to quarantine prior to and after the expedition.
