Shares of Ipca Laboratories Ltd.(up 3.02 per cent), Granules India Ltd.(up 1.88 per cent), Gland Pharma Ltd.(up 1.77 per cent), Zydus Lifesciences Ltd.(up 1.75 per cent) and Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(up 1.54 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.
On the other hand, Natco Pharma Ltd.(down 0.8 per cent), J B Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals Ltd.(down 0.73 per cent), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.(down 0.64 per cent), Ajanta Pharma Ltd.(down 0.54 per cent) and Laurus Labs Ltd.(down 0.42 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.
The Nifty Pharma index closed 0.4 per cent at 23553.40.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended up 445.75 points at 24188.65, while the BSE Sensex stood 1436.3 points at 79943.71.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 48 ended in the green, while 2 closed in the red.
