Police have arrested a 48-year-old man days after his parents and brother were injured in an alleged axe attack in Victoria.
Peter O’Ryan, 48, is suspected of launching the alleged attack in a home on Cowies Rd in Tyers, north of Traralgon in Victoria’s Gippsland region, about 12.30pm on Saturday.
O’Ryan’s mother Janine, 74, father Keith, 76, and brother Paul, 47, were all found fighting for life with injuries believed to have been caused by an axe or a hatchet.

Officers were called on Tuesday evening to reports of O’Ryan suspiciously loitering in the vicinity of Tyers-Walhalla Road around 9pm, they said in a statement.
He was arrested by police at the scene after three days of searching. He will now be interviewed in relation to the alleged attack, police say.

He then allegedly turned on his parents when they tried to intervene.
The victims managed to call triple-0 for help as O’Ryan fled the property on foot and remained at large until his arrest on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Sergeant Rod Findlay said on Sunday it was some of the “most serious offending” he’s ever seen.
“We don’t see much worse than this,” Findlay said.
Keith and Paul remain in a critical condition at The Alfred in Melbourne while Janine remains in a stable condition.
