Warrior(2.5 / 5) Warrior Movie Review:
When we hear the word ‘warrior’, we usually think of a soldier fighting on the border. But cinema often gives this title to the farmer, whose daily fight is against poor roads, heavy loans, and government neglect. Umesh Hebbal’s Warrior builds on this very idea, showing the farmer as an unsung hero taking on an unfair system. Kannada cinema has seen this story many times: an ignored village, an educated young man who feel better to farm his land, and corrupt local bosses who must be taught a lesson. Warrior sticks to this familiar path. The director clearly cares about village issues, but having a good heart and a nice message is not enough when the storytelling becomes weak.

The basic idea is good. What happens when an educated youth takes up farming, only to find that speeches praising farmers mean nothing in real life? The film looks at this through Dhruva (Umesh Hebbal), an agriculture post-graduate who returns to his village to work the fields.
The film makes an honest point about how people respect farming only in words. An early scene about a marriage proposal shows this clearly: a father is turned down simply because his son works in the mud instead of sitting in an AC office. It is a simple, real moment that highlights how society looks down on farmers.
