Like every year, Apple shared the first look of the upcoming version of its operating system for iPhones, iOS 14, at its annual developers conference WWDC 2020. Apple is revamping the Home Screen with iOS 14. iPhone users will be able to move apps around as well as group them in new ways thanks to App Library. The App Library aims to make finding where users’ apps are stored much easier. Apps can also be automatically grouped as per categories. Customisable widgets come to iPhones
Taking cue from Apple Watch, Apple is bringing widgets to iPhones’ home screen. Users will be able to add widgets to the home screen and customise them. Users can tap and drag these widgets onto the home screen from anywhere. The new Smart Stack feature will allow users to place multiple widgets on top of each other and swipe through them to see the content.

Home screen gets picture-in-picture mode
Apple is also adding picture-in-picture support to iOS 14. This means users can watch videos while multitasking. Videos can also be played completely in the background. There are also controls to bring videos back to front and center. Users can pin them as well as adjust the width.

Apple Messages: Get new memoji options, message notifications and more
Apple has added new features to make Messages smarter. These include face mask customisations, new memoji options and ability to respond directly to a specific comment. Users will also be able to pin specific conversations, this means the people they chat with most can always be on top. The direct message feature will allow to ping someone specifically in that group. Users can also set notifications so that only they get notified from the group if are specifically mentioned. Memoji gets additional hairstyles, headwear, face coverings and more.
