The UP government will provide one lakh rupees to all the districts for this event. Participation of women will be made especially in these events to be held at district, tehsil and block level. Cultural programs will also be organized. Instructions have been issued to all DMs for this. Chaitra Navratri is starting from 22 March.
On March 10, the state’s culture department had given instructions to all divisional commissioners and district magistrates to organize cultural programmes. The officials have been asked to complete all the preparations by March 21. Along with this, instructions have also been given to share GPS location, addresses, photographs of selected temples and contact details of temple management bodies.
Two nodal officers have been appointed at the state level for coordination between different branches of administration. In the instructions, it has also been asked to organize Durga Saptashati recitation, Devi Gaan and Devi Jagran at temples and Shaktipeeths. The government will launch a special campaign to ensure the participation of women and girls in these programmes.
On March 29 and 30, on Ashtami and Ramnavami, recitation of Akhand Ramayana will be organized at major Shaktipeeths. For these events, an organizing committee will be constituted at each development block, tehsil and district level. In every district, a committee headed by the District Magistrate will select the artistes who will perform in religious and cultural programmes.
It was said in the instructions that public representatives will be invited in these events and public participation will be ensured. Apart from this, the culture department will allocate Rs 1 lakh to each district to pay honorarium to the artists selected to perform at the events. Other arrangements will be made by the district administration at its own level.
