In a note to all Chief Secretaries/Director-Generals of Authorities, the MHA said police need to prepare an effective second line of defence to make up for the authorities personnel who might be rendered ineffective due to COVID-19

Amidst reports of police workers getting contaminated by coronavirus, the Ministry of House Affairs (MHA) has asked States/Union Territories to prepare a 2nd line of defence to guarantee sustainment of the control strategy for COVID-19

In a note to all Chief Secretaries/Director-Generals of Cops, the MHA stated police require to prepare a reliable 2nd line of defence to offset the authorities workers who might be rendered inadequate due to COVID-19 infection during the pandemic.

While a bulk of authorities personnel were released for addressing COVID-19 associated work and other policing tasks, Head of Police Forces (HoPFs) might think about the option of ‘Work from House’ for workers not released on frontline du
