Protesters marched to the Chinese Intermediary Workplace on Friday. Additional demonstrations are expected on Sunday.
Signatories from Europe, Asia, north America and Australia called the strategies a “comprehensive assault on the city’s autonomy, guideline of law and basic freedoms”.
It explains Beijing’s plans – which include setting up Chinese government intelligence bases in Hong Kong – as a “ostentatious breach” of the Sino-British Joint Declaration, under which Hong Kong returned to Chinese guideline in 1997.
” If the global community can not trust Beijing to keep its word when it comes to Hong Kong, individuals will be reluctant to take its word on other matters,” the signatories wrote.
