Police Chief Erika Shields stepped down as the killing of 27- year-old Rayshard Brooks stimulated a new wave of demonstrations in Atlanta after rough demonstrations that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis had actually simmered down.

announced the cops chief’s resignation at a Saturday afternoon news conference. The mayor also called for the instant shooting of the unknown officer who opened fire at Brooks.
” I do not believe that this was a justified usage of deadly force and have actually required the immediate termination of the officer,” Bottoms said.
