A local court in Mathura on Tuesday convicted 11 police officers, including a then Deputy Superintendent of Cops (DSP), for the murder of ‘Raja’ Guy Singh, the then titular head of Bharatpur erstwhile handsome State in Rajasthan, in1985
3 other policemen who were implicated of forging the basic diary entries and dealing with charges under Section 218 of the IPC were, nevertheless, acquitted, said Nand Kishor Abhimanyu, lawyer for the accused.
The occurrence took place on February 20, 1985 when Guy Singh, then 64, and his 2 partners were shot dead by cops a day after he had supposedly damaged his military vehicle into the stage set up for an election rally of then Rajasthan Chief Minister Shiv Charan Mathur.
