HYDERABAD: A large number of Indians working in the US, who are stuck in India because of the lockdown, are putting together a plan, which will cost a small fortune, just to get back to the US to save their jobs. They have started pooling their resources to collect $900,000 (approximately Rs 6.75 crore) so that they can charter a flight to get back to the US.
“When I got the initial quote of $900,000 (from a company in California), I thought a flight would be tough to fill up, but as soon as word got around on social media, there was a tremendous response with many people saying they would pay up,” said an H-1B visa holder from Hyderabad who is making the arrangements.
