BJP has announced the names of its candidates for the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. The Central Election Committee of the party has approved the list of candidates for the biennial elections and by-elections 2026 from the local authority constituencies.
In this list released by the party’s national general secretary and headquarters in-charge Arun Singh, experienced leaders from different areas of the state have been fielded.
According to the BJP list, a total of 10 names have been approved for the biennial elections 2026. Arun Lakhani from Wardha-Chandrapur-Gadchiroli, Avinash Brahmankar from Bhandara-Gondiya and Praveen Pote Patil from Amravati have been declared candidates.

Fielded many veterans in the election field
Dhairyasheel Kadam from Sangli-Satara, Rajendra Raut from Solapur, Prajakta Tanpure from Ahilyanagar and Suhas Shirsat from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar-Jalna will contest. Whereas Amar Rajurkar from Nanded, Basavaraj Patil from Dharashiv-Latur-Beed and Nandkishore Mahajan from Jalgaon will be in the fray.
Names also decided for Legislative Council by-election
Along with the biennial seats, BJP has also announced the name of its candidate for the Maharashtra Legislative Council by-election 2026. The party has made Dr. Rajeev Potdar its authorized candidate for this by-election from Nagpur Local Authority Constituency.

Trying to cover all areas
It is clear from this list of BJP that the party has tried to strengthen its equations in all the major areas of Maharashtra like Vidarbha, Marathwada, North Maharashtra and West Maharashtra. The party has expressed confidence in its grassroots and influential leaders to register victory on these seats.
