It may have taken a little while, but I’m officially aboard the matcha-loving trend.
Here on Aussie shores, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the trending green drink — iced, hot, as lemonades, smoothies and even mocktails.
So, if the earthy green drink hasn’t taken your fancy just yet, chances are you just haven’t found the right flavour.

And as the popular drink shows no signs of slowing down, Aussie favourite fresh food brand Soul Origin offers a take on premium matcha drinks.
Think Strawberry, Mango, Blueberry and White Chocolate (to name a few), alongside traditional iced matcha options and limited-edition secret-menu creations available in stores.
Starting from just $7.90, these tasty drinks are perfect as a mid-morning pick-me-up or post-lunch treat.

There are four flavours to try: Strawberry, Mango, Blueberry and White Chocolate, alongside iced matcha options and a limited-edition secret menu to explore in store.
“We didn’t want to simply put matcha on the menu because it was trending. We wanted to understand what people loved about it – but also what stopped other people from trying it,” Sam Taylor, National Coffee Manager at Soul Origin tells 7You.
“Strawberry and mango gave customers an easy entry point into matcha, while our more traditional options still deliver for people who already love the category.”
“What’s been most exciting is seeing customers who told us they weren’t matcha drinkers try one and come back for another. That’s when we knew we’d created something different,” he explains.

Since the launch, the brand has sold more than 350,000 iced matcha drinks across the country, with Strawberry Matcha becoming the brand’s second most popular iced drink.
Mango Matcha sits in third place, with Aussies opting for the earthy green drink over other classics.
“Matcha has become much bigger than one successful campaign for us. It’s given us permission to keep experimenting with flavour, format and how we introduce people to new drinks,” says Sam.
“Coffee will always be at the heart of Soul Origin, but Australians’ drinking habits are evolving. Our job is to keep the same obsession with quality and craft while giving customers new reasons to walk through our doors.”
So the next time you head into store — or the drive-thru — consider switching your regular brew for one of the mood-boosting matchas.
