Kangana Ranaut believes Deepika Padukone has earned the right to work less

Deepika Padukone’s reported exit from Spirit came as a major surprise to the film industry. The actress, who was expected to star opposite Prabhas, soon found herself at the centre of speculation, with reports suggesting that her demand for shorter working hours may have played a role. Around the same time, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD also confirmed that she would not be returning for the sequel.

As debates intensified, the industry appeared divided. While some defended the new mother’s decision to seek a more balanced work schedule, others seemed to make indirect remarks about her stance.

Amid all the chatter, Kangana Ranaut stepped forward to support Deepika Padukone.

Kangana Says Deepika Has Earned The Right Kangana strongly backed Deepika amid the controversy over her reported demand for an eight-hour workday. According to the actress, someone of Deepika’s stature — and a new mother at that — has every right to set her own conditions.

During an interview with ANI, Kangana spoke about how perspectives on work change with time and experience. She also looked back at a period when both she and Deepika were willing to push themselves through long, exhausting schedules in pursuit of success.

Addressing the controversy, Kangana stated, “I don’t think there should be an issue created out of this because if you see where she (Deepika Padukone) is coming from, she has earned that place. She has a daughter, she’s a mother now, and the topmost actress. If today she is keen to work for eight hours, she has earned it.”
