yesterday 4.14pm Perth therapist accused of beating client’s dog By
A Perth physical therapist has been charged with animal cruelty after he allegedly beat a pet dog while visiting a client inside their Maylands home.
The RSPCA alleges the incident happened in January this year when a therapist, 56, was caught on CCTV cornering a Jack Russell before striking her multiple times with an electric bug-zapper racket.
The dog could be heard yelping and barking in distress, and attempting to escape.
The owner took the dog to the vet after noticing blood on surfaces and red staining on the racket.
The vet found the dog had an injury to its nose and was suffering from ongoing psychological harm.
The accused man has been charged with animal cruelty and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court next month.
