The case of the mysterious death of Bhopal’s Twisha Sharma, which has been in the headlines for the last few days, seems to be moving forward with new revelations and twists. CCTV footage before and after the incident, Twisha’s husband Samarth absconding and later surrendering, as well as several shocking statements by her mother-in-law have brought the case into greater focus. Now the legal process has also become faster. After the investigation of the case was handed over to CBI, the hope of fair investigation and justice to the victim party has become stronger. Amidst all this, many more things have come to light in the FIR lodged by Twisha’s family.

It is alleged in the FIR that at the time of marriage, the deceased’s family had given dowry beyond their capacity. But at the time of Twisha’s departure, Rs 2 lakh was also given on the demand of her mother-in-law Giribala Singh. Despite all this, soon after the marriage, mother-in-law Giribala Singh and husband Samarth Singh started taunting them regarding dowry. They used to say that the expenditure incurred on the wedding was less as per their ‘standard’.

Apart from this, after marriage, Twisha was not given money for expenses and money was ordered online from her parents’ house. In April 2026, Twisha was about one month pregnant, but her husband and mother-in-law put pressure on her to abort the pregnancy, calling the child “someone else’s”. In the first week of May 2026, mental pressure was exerted on the character of the deceased by making false allegations. Due to this pressure she had an abortion.

Twisha made several calls to her mother on May 12.

The FIR states that Twisha later went to her maternal home, where talks took place between the two families to resolve the dispute. On April 22, 2026, Twisha’s family reached her in-laws’ house and a compromise was reached between the two parties. Then, on May 12, 2026, Twisha had called and talked to her mother several times. At around 9:41 pm, she made a WhatsApp call, but during the conversation, a loud voice of her husband Samarth Singh was heard and suddenly the phone got disconnected.

Mother-in-law did not make Twisha talk to her

After this, Twisha’s mother called her husband and mother-in-law several times, but no one received the call. At around 10:35 pm, mother-in-law Giribala Singh picked up the phone, but refused to talk to the deceased and disconnected the call. During the investigation, WhatsApp chat, PM report, dead body panchnama, statements of witnesses, wedding photos, wedding cards and documents related to the transaction were presented as evidence. In this, the matter of physical and mental torture by husband Samarth Singh and mother-in-law Giribala Singh regarding dowry has come to light.

According to the FIR, being troubled by the torture, the deceased committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence HIG/311 Bagmundalia Extension, Katra Hills. Prima facie it has been said to be a case related to dowry death and mental-physical torture.
