BRAND-NEW DELHI: The government offered some relief to air visitors on Thursday when it “advised” airline companies to offer complete refunds to those who reserved tickets throughout the lockdown for domestic and worldwide flights cancelled in that duration.
However, the respite is not for those who had actually scheduled tickets on and before March 24 (after which lockdown started) for flights between March 25 and Might 3 (the lockdown period in the meantime).
Indian carriers, the majority of nearly bankrupt now, are not able to give complete refunds to guests for flights cancelled in the lockdown duration due to a severe liquidity crunch.
